Where Everyone Belongs
At The Puddle Project, we do more than offer support – we build a SEND family community support at The Puddle Project. From the moment you step through our gates, there’s a sense of belonging that’s hard to describe but easy to feel. For adults and children with SEND, and the teams, volunteers, and families who support them, The Puddle Project isn’t just a place. It’s home.

From Day One: You’re One of Us
Every person who walks through our doors – whether they’re joining a session, volunteering, working, or just visiting – is welcomed like a long-lost friend. We don’t believe in hierarchy or red tape. We believe in cups of tea, open conversations, laughter, and eye contact. Everyone has a seat at the table.
Our Adult Provision doesn’t run like a service – it runs like a community. People make decisions about what they want to do. They share ideas, try new things, get involved in projects, and make things happen. Whether that’s planning a cooking challenge, running a mini sports day, or helping design a sensory garden, it’s theirs. That shared ownership makes our site feel like a shared home.
We Celebrate Together
Birthdays? We sing. Achievements? We cheer. Struggles? We support. Success at a job trial or mastering a new life skill doesn’t go unnoticed here – it becomes everyone’s win. That’s how a family works. It’s not just about staff supporting participants – it’s about everyone lifting each other up.
Some of our proudest moments have come from the smallest gestures. These are the things that can’t be trained or planned – they grow naturally when people feel safe, accepted, and valued.
The Little Big Things
We run “Puddle vs The World” challenges where companies compete in friendly matches – but win or lose, the biggest trophy is always the connections made. We take trips, plant trees, and spend rainy days just talking about life. These shared experiences stitch us together.
We’ve even employed individuals who first came as part of a volunteering process. Watching someone go from shyly attending their first times here to confidently leading a group activity is the reason we do what we do.
Shaped by the People
What makes us most proud is this: The Puddle Project doesn’t just support people. It is the people. The ideas, the layout of the space, the weekly schedules, the way things are run – all shaped and influenced by the people who use it every day. That’s how a family grows. You don’t just live in the house – you help decorate the walls.

Once You’re in, You’re In for Life
Families come in all shapes and sizes. Ours is made of people who care, who show up, who laugh together, cry together, and build something better together.
The Puddle Project is more than a provision. It’s a movement. It’s a safe space. It’s a giant, messy, beautiful family – and there’s always room for one more.
