It’s Okay to Be You

At The Puddle Project, every day reminds us that mental health is just as important as physical health. This World Mental Health Day 2025, we’re taking a moment to reflect, connect, and remind our community that it’s okay to be you – exactly as you are.

Moving Forward Together, encourages us to build inclusive spaces where everyone feels valued, heard, and supported – especially adults and young people with SEND, who often face additional challenges around mental wellbeing.

Why Mental Health Awareness Matters

Mental health affects how we think, feel, and act. For many individuals with SEND, day-to-day life can bring unique pressures – from navigating social situations and managing sensory needs, to adjusting to change or stepping into adulthood.

At The Puddle Project, we see first-hand how creating an environment of belonging, purpose, and fun can make a real difference. Whether it’s caring for animals, helping maintain our site, or taking part in our sports and social activities, every moment contributes to wellbeing and personal growth.

Mental health doesn’t always look the same for everyone, but common signs someone may need support include:

  • Feeling unusually sad, anxious, or withdrawn
  • Changes in sleeping or eating habits
  • Difficulty coping with everyday tasks
  • Loss of interest in hobbies or social activities

Recognising these signs early is crucial. Encouraging open conversations and reducing stigma are key steps to helping someone feel safe and supported.

A Message from The Puddle Project Team

World Mental Health Day is a powerful reminder that every person’s mental health matters, every day.

We know that sometimes reaching out for support can feel difficult – that’s why our Facebook Messenger and emails are always open. Whether you want to ask a question, find out more about our adult provision, or just have a friendly chat, we’re here to listen.

No question is too small, and no message goes unanswered. At The Puddle Project, your wellbeing and connection matter to us.
