Welcome to our May Newsletter! Its been another action packed month down at The Puddle. From exciting new additions to the site, a secret girls trip to Chester and hosting the ultimate camping trip right here at The Puddle. Take a look at what we’ve been up to…
Upcoming Events:
- We are pleased to be attending an ABBA tribute performance at The Irish Club on Friday 26th June. An evening that promises great music, a touch of nostalgia and no doubt, a few enthusiastic sing-alongs.
- The Puddle team are very excited for a special trip on the 17th of June as we head to the Salvation Army to watch and support one of our incredible adults performing in a panto production! We are all so proud and cant wait to see them shine on stage. We’ll definitely be the loudest supporters in the audience!
- Our incredible adults who will be volunteering at the ‘Forget Me Not’ Café again later this month at Winwick Community Centre. By lending a helping hand, engaging with visitors and making a positive impact within our local community.
- Our wonderful team and adults will be also attending the Priestley College Open Day on Thursday, 25th June! We’re looking forward to a fantastic day out, exploring the college, and seeing all the brilliant opportunities on offer.
- We are excited to be welcoming the team from New Balance back to The Puddle for an exciting sports day event! Our team has been practicing incredibly hard, so you best bring your A-game! May the best team win!
Can-Do Crew
The Can Do Crew have well and truly raised the bar this time with their spectacular total! All of their incredible hard work and dedication is really paying off, and we couldn’t be prouder of what they have achieved so far. A huge well done and congratulations to the whole team!
Key Events:
- The girls snuck off for a secret girls trip to Chester for the night, getting some well-deserved revenge after the lads snuck off to Cork! It was the perfect mini-break filled with total relaxation at the spa, delicious meals out, and plenty of shopping. Score settled!
- We had the ultimate on-site camping trip right here at The Puddle, and it was the full experience! From a delicious BBQ and an intense game of hide-and-seek to everyone singing their hearts out on the karaoke, it was a non-stop adventure. It was the perfect night under the stars filled with tons of laughter and great memories.
- The team recently volunteered at the Greenwood Community Garden, truly putting their gardening skills to the test! While they were busy working away and transforming the space, they had the absolute surprise of bumping into Stacey Dooley! Safe to say it was an unforgettable day for the team.
- We are thrilled to announce that our brand new bowling green has officially been installed. We are absolutely delighted with the finished result and can’t thank Trulawn enough for helping make it happen. We can already see some healthy competition brewing and we can’t wait for the team to get rolling and put it to good use.
- Our crew headed over to Willow Green on the 6th of May for their transition day, and it was a brilliant success! It was a fantastic opportunity to promote what we do, share our values and engage with the wider community.
- The Puddle team also had a wonderful time visiting the transition day at Expanse on the 3rd of May! It was a very successful day, representing The Puddle, making new connections and having plenty meaningful conversations. Our team loved being a part of such an important day, and we are so proud of the way they continue to show up with confidence and enthusiasm.
- A huge thank you to everyone who came along to our recent Open Day! it was fantastic to welcome so many visitors to The Puddle, show off what we’ve been working on, and give people a glimpse into the amazing opportunities and activities our incredible adults get involved in. We loved meeting everyone and sharing what we are all about.
- During the half term break, we were delighted to welcome families from Families United to The Puddle for a drop in session. It was wonderful to see so many families enjoying the site and spending quality time together in a relaxed and friendly environment. A great opportunity for families to connect, take part in activities, and experience everything The Puddle has to offer. We thoroughly enjoyed hosting everyone and look forward to welcoming Families United back again soon.
