We’ve got some incredibly exciting news bubbling up here at The Puddle Project, and we can’t wait to share the first splash with you! We’ve been dreaming big about new ways to empower our amazing SEN adults, contribute to our wonderful local community, and truly embrace our ecological ethos. Today, we’re thrilled to give you a sneak peek into our newest venture: The Puddle’s Can-Do Crew!

At The Puddle Project, we believe in turning every challenge into an opportunity, and every resource into something valuable. Our latest “big idea” is all about transformation – taking something discarded and giving it a brand new purpose, while creating incredible opportunities right here at our sustainable, regenerative energy-powered Puddle Project.

The Can-Do Crew is our ambitious new recycling initiative. Our dedicated team of SEN adults will be at the heart of this project, transforming used metal cans into valuable resources. This isn’t just about recycling; it’s about real work, real skills, and real impact, fostering teamwork, and creating meaningful, dignified roles within our community.

We’re incredibly proud to announce that our vision has already attracted fantastic support from leaders in the recycling industry, showing just how much potential The Can-Do Crew has!

  • St. Helens Skip Hire has enthusiastically backed our project, sharing their commitment to a zero-landfill policy and inspiring us with their dedication to sustainable waste management.
  • We’re thrilled to officially welcome our local partners, X-Met Metals, who recently came to weigh our very first batch of cans! Thanks to the Can-Do Crew’s initial efforts (before we’ve even officially launched collections!), we proudly earned £45 towards our target! This partnership means every can collected directly contributes to our cause!
  • And we’re thrilled that the team from Novelis, a global leader in aluminium recycling with a major plant right here in Warrington, is on board as an educational partner. They’ll be advising us on best practices, helping us ensure top quality, and showcasing the full journey of aluminium recycling.

We’re also incredibly excited to unveil our brand new logo for The Puddle’s Can-Do Crew, designed and chosen by our very own team! This logo perfectly captures their energy, determination, and the spirit of what we’re building together. It represents their pride in taking on this challenge and their commitment to success.

Every single can collected and processed by The Can-Do Crew will contribute directly to a truly heartwarming goal: raising enough funds for our incredible SEN adults to earn and pay for their very own, all-expenses-paid break! Imagine the joy, the new experiences, and the well-deserved fun this will bring. And for their families, it offers precious, much-needed respite, knowing their loved ones are enjoying an unforgettable adventure they’ve truly earned through their hard work.

This project embodies everything The Puddle Project stands for: empowerment, community, and a commitment to our planet. It’s about showing what our SEN adults can do when given the right support and opportunity.

Right now, we’re busy behind the scenes, getting our recycling operation fully ready and our amazing Can-Do Crew team perfecting their skills.

Over the coming weeks, we’ll be sharing more updates, sneak peeks, and details on how you can become a vital part of The Can-Do Crew’s journey. Get ready to help us turn everyday recyclables into tangible earnings and extraordinary memories!
