At The Puddle Project, our core mission has always been to champion growth, independence, and choice for adults with Special Educational Needs (SEN). While our bespoke day care provision in Warrington offers vital structure and skill development, we firmly believe that a truly enriched life extends far beyond daily routines. It’s about access to diverse experiences, engaging with the wider community, and creating cherished memories that last a lifetime.
That’s why we are incredibly excited to share how we are actively working to increase the available experiences for SEN adults, opening doors to new adventures in arts, culture, and sport.
Stepping into the Spotlight: A Night at the Theatre
Recently, a group of our service users enjoyed a truly memorable outing to the Liverpool Empire Theatre to see the much-loved musical production of “Only Fools and Horses.” For many, this was their first time experiencing the magic of live theatre in such an iconic venue.
The laughter, the shared excitement, and the joy of seeing a classic show brought to life on stage were truly wonderful. These cultural outings are vital. They provide opportunities for:
- Sensory Engagement: The lights, sounds, and atmosphere of live performance.
- Social Connection: Sharing the experience with friends and staff, discussing it afterwards.
- Community Integration: Enjoying a mainstream cultural event in a public setting.
- Cognitive Stimulation: Following a storyline, reacting to performances, and engaging with new narratives.
The feedback was overwhelmingly positive, underscoring the profound impact such accessible and enjoyable experiences have on well-being and quality of life.

But we’re not stopping there! We believe in fostering a diverse range of interests, and for those with a love of live sport, we have some truly special VIP experiences lined up. We are thrilled to announce unique, behind-the-scenes trips:
- A Very Special VIP Trip with Manchester Storm Ice Hockey Team: Our service users will get an incredible insider’s view of the fast-paced, exhilarating world of ice hockey. Imagine getting to see the players up close, perhaps even experiencing some of the pre-game atmosphere that the public rarely sees! It’s an opportunity to feel the energy of a professional sports team and witness incredible athleticism.
- VIP Experience with Cheshire Phoenix Basketball Team: We’re also preparing for an exclusive visit with the high-flying Cheshire Phoenix basketball team. This will offer a unique perspective on the sport, potentially including a chance to meet players or see areas of the venue usually off-limits. It’s an immersive dive into the world of professional basketball that goes beyond just being a spectator.
