Welcome to our April update! April was a truly sensational month at The Puddle, marked by a beautiful balance of high-energy adventures and meaningful community connections. From the laughter of international trips and on-site camping to the heart-warming moments spent volunteering locally, it was a month that perfectly showcased the spirit and kindness of our incredible adults.
Upcoming Events:
- Save the date! The Puddle will be opening its doors for our Open Day on Thursday 28th May! We are excited to show you around, introduce you to our amazing team and share a little glimpse into what our adults get up to every day at The Puddle.
- We are pleased to be attending an ABBA tribute performance at The Irish Club on Friday 26th June. An evening that promises great music, a touch of nostalgia and no doubt, a few enthusiastic sing-alongs.
- It’s time to trade the digital glow for the warmth of a campfire! We are thrilled to be hosting an exciting on-site camping trip designed specifically for our adults here at The Puddle, on the 28th May.
- We are delighted to announce that a brand new bowling pitch is going to be installed very soon at The Puddle. We are incredibly excited to see the finished pitch and look forward to many enjoyable games, friendly competition and memorable moments for everyone involved.
- A day which is always filled with joy, laughter and lots of fun, The Puddle will be welcoming Families United for another drop in session very soon. It is always a pleasure meeting lovely new families and, of course, seeing some familiar faces again too.
- The Puddle team are very excited for a special trip on the 17th of June as we head to the Salvation Army to watch and support one of our incredible adults performing in a panto production! We are all so proud and cant wait to see them shine on stage. We’ll definitely be the loudest supporters in the audience!
Can-Do Crew
Recently, the Can-Do Crew welcomed the team from X-Metals to collect yet another mountain of bags filled with crushed cans. A huge well done to the Can-Do Crew for their brilliant efforts, dedication and teamwork that goes into preparing the cans ready for collection each month. The crew continue to work incredibly hard, and we are so proud to announce that they have once again increased the total funds for their growing enterprise.
Key Events:
- At the beginning of the month Itchy and Scratchy enjoyed an exciting secret trip away to Cork. The adventure was full of laughter, new memories and plenty of fun along the way. We think its safe to say they had a unforgettable time!
- The lads also enjoyed not one but two camping trips over at The Puddle recently. From putting up tents to spending quality time together making memories on site, it was a brilliant experience for everyone involved.
- Double the birthdays, Double the fun, Double the cake! Over at The Puddle this month we had a wonderful time celebrating both Beth’s and Zara’s birthdays with a double birthday bash!
- The Puddle was thrilled to welcome the team from New Balance for a visit recently! We had a wonderful time showing them around and we are already counting down to June for what promises to be a very competitive day. May the best team win!
- The Puddle recently hosted a fantastic HAF day, providing a vibrant and inclusive space for the children from Friends Play to connect and thrive. The session was packed with engaging activities designed to boost confidence, social skills and enjoy and explore the site. A big thank you to our incredible adults for lending a helping hand and leading our activities making the day run as smoothly as possible.
- Some of our incredible adults have been busy out in the community this month, volunteering at the ‘Forget Me Not’ Cafe at Winwick Community Centre! Our team jumped right in to lend a helping hand, spending the morning socialising with local residents and spreading smiles all round. It was a heart-warming experience for everyone involved, and we are incredibly proud of the kindness and support our team continues to show to others!
- Our crew headed over to Willow Green on the 6th of May for their transition day, and it was a brilliant success! It was a fantastic opportunity to promote what we do, share our values and engage with the wider community.
- The Puddle team also had a wonderful time visiting the transition day at Expanse on the 3rd of May! It was a very successful day, representing The Puddle, making new connections and having plenty meaningful conversations. Our team loved being a part of such an important day, and we are so proud of the way they continue to show up with confidence and enthusiasm.
- The sun may have been shining, but the brightest part of our recent Family Fun Day was the incredible turnout of families who filled The Puddle with life, laughter, and community spirit!

New Balance
A massive thank you to New Balance (Warrington HQ) for your incredible support and generosity in fundraising for The Puddle!
Associates at their HQ in Warrington hosted an Easter raffle and collected £900. This truly makes a difference to the adults we support, helping us continue to create opportunities, experiences, and a safe, inclusive environment for everyone involved.
